Independence

Too often, advisor-broker loyalties are confused

independent
1. without guidance or control by another.
2. not influenced by other loyalties.
3. not dependent on, or affiliated with, a larger controlling entity.

Imagine This:Your insurance company takes a position that clearly serves their interests, but hurts yours. Your advisor is unwilling or unable to get involved, because the insurance company is also her employer.

At Knox, we believe independence is one of our greatest strengths, allowing us to hold insurers accountable to you.

There exists a great deception of the insurance industry: that all brokers and agents provide independent client advice.

But in many cases, advice is dispensed as directed by the insurance company that employs, or otherwise exercises control of the advisor. How much objectivity can that advisor bring to your advantage?

Because we are not owned, in whole or in part, by any insurance company, we have the freedom to represent you with honesty, integrity, and objectivity.

Think about it: if you are dealing directly with an insurance company for your insurance protection, who are they really looking out for?? Do they have your best interests in mind? Are they able to offer you a solution without bias? Who really is totally and completely on your side?

Insurers and insureds are both parties to a contract, and their interests are not the same. Insurance companies will naturally protect their own interests. That’s why every day of our working life is spent holding insurers accountable – to you, our client.
